PRIVACY SUPPLEMENT- TanTrade Biashara App(General)
This privacy supplement gives some general information around app usage. For further
information about privacy, please see our main privacy policy. If you’re using an
app together with another service such as mobile, read those sections too.
There are a range of TanTrade Biashara Apps, including the TanTrade Biashara App.
The privacy policy also applies to those apps, but there will also sometimes be
an additional privacy supplement provided with the app itself with more information.
In those cases, both will apply.
When you download or use a TanTrade Biashara App, information may be accessed
from or stored on your device. This will let it operate and function as well
as remember you.
To provide you with the service, communicate with you and to work to improve
our services, we’ll need to collect information about your device
(for example, type, unique identifiers, its operating system,
if you’re using 3G or 4G, etc.), app ID and information about your use of the app.
Additional information may also be collected to provide you with the requested service.
Each app will set out the preferences it requires to operate, some of which you may be
able to opt out of in some cases.
Opting out of certain preferences may, however, affect the functionality of
certain services and apps. For example, if you opt out of the location-based
feature on your device, you may find that an app doesn’t operate. It’s important to
flag that, where you choose to download or use an app not operated by
TanTrade Biashara App, those apps are subject to their own terms of use and privacy and
cookies policies. Make sure you’re familiar with those before downloading or using that
app. We can’t be responsible for the security and content of such third-party apps. If

TanTrade Biashara App ANDROID
To provide you with features of TanTrade Biashara App, to send you personalized recommendations, and to help improve our products and services, TanTrade Biashara App will share certain information from your device within our company. This privacy supplement explains the information that is collected by TanTrade Biashara App and how it will be used. For further information about privacy, please see our main privacy policy
Information we Collect
Information about your interactions with us:
When you use the basic features of TanTrade Biashara App, for example checking your
billing details, viewing your bundles, viewing information about how much data consumed
on daily basis, or interacting with our customer care, information
about such interactions is recorded on our servers. Information about the quality
and use of your connectivity services and apps: Unless you have disabled the
collection through the app settings, TanTrade Biashara App will regularly send
us information about the coverage, connectivity and data usage relating to your
connectivity services, , your location as well as information about your device,
as explained in more detail below. Coverage, connectivity and data usage
Information about network connectivity and quality for phone calls, internet and data
services as experienced by you, as well as statistics about how much your device uses
internet services and consumes data, such as:
• The data consumed on daily basis
• Mobile coverage (2G, 3G, 4G) in your area
Device information
Technical information about your device, such as:
Phone brand and model
Operating system
Firmware version
Hardware capabilities
Language and locale
Battery state
Memory consumption
Time since last reboot
Location information
Unless you have disabled the collection through the app settings,
we collect your location data when we measure the items above. For example,
we know your rough location from the phone mast and Wi-Fi hot spot your phone is using.
When your phone or one of your apps is using GPS location data, we use that to assess
location more precisely and sometimes your speed and direction of travel if available
with GPS information.
Unless you have chosen otherwise, this information is collected with a personal identifier.
Usage of TanTrade Biashara App
Information about the performance and use of the TanTrade Biashara App, for example when and how many times the app has been used, your choices and journeys within the app, app version, last update, application ID and device make and model.
What information we don’t collect
We understand that some of the information we collect may be seen as sensitive.
Therefore, we have designed the app to reduce the sensitivity of the collected information.
For example, we don’t collect information about:
Numbers you dial or receive calls from
Sender or receiver information from text messages, emails or internet chat messaging
on your device
Any content of your communications, such as text, email or chat content or your browsing
history
Information about which features of the apps you use or what content you send, receive
or otherwise consume through an app
How we use this information
In addition to using the data to the extent necessary to provide you with the
services you've requested • for example to show you how much data an app consumes - we also use the data to help us improve our networks and services as
well as to make personalized recommendations to you.
Helping us improve our networks and services
We analyze the collected information to diagnose connectivity, coverage or connection
quality problems, understand connectivity needs from the usage of mobile data,
Wi-Fi and apps, and use such insights to make improvements to our network and services.
This may include, for example:
Improving the quality of the network, for example through better understanding about the exact areas with low network performance or areas of high consumption of data - this helps us prioritize new site implementation and otherwise improve network performance
Helping us deal with performance issues caused by poorly performing devices
Improving our commercial models and offers based on improved understanding of the patterns related to the use of apps and connection quality
Improving the performance and design of TanTrade Biashara App by understanding which features of the app are popular and how those features perform on different types of devices
Providing you with a Personalised app experience
Contact Book – To personalise your app experience with a photo and name of anyone on your
account, straight from your contact book. The app requests this permission to show images
and names from your contact book if their number appears as part of the subscriptions
you can manage in the app
Photos Media and files – the app requests this permission to download your bill to the
device.
Providing you with personalised assistance and recommendations
We may use the collected information to help us provide more personalised marketing
communications to you. We may, for example: ◦ Recommend a new or a different bundle for
you based on the way you use your connectivity services ◦ Help you manage your data plans
by showing you which apps consume more data We may combine the collected information
with other information we may hold about you.
If you have chosen to provide us with information without being personally identified,
all personal identifiers are removed in the app before sending such information to
TanTrade Biashara App - we then process the collected information anonymously.
We do not intend to use the information to identify you or any other person personally
and we have in place appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent
that from happening.
Choices do you have?
TanTrade Biashara App offers you choices and control over what information you are willing to share from your device. You may choose to:

1. DEFINITIONS
1.1 TanTrade means Tanzania Trade Development Authority.
1.2 TanTrade Mobile App Application means an application that enables Business communities
to easily and conveniently access all trade related information offered by TanTrade at
one place.
1.3 Android and iOS means is a mobile operating system used for smartphones and
tablets
1.4 Google Play store means the store for Android supported Apps
1.5 App Store means the store for Apple supported Apps
1.6 App means: is a software program that's designed to perform a specific function.
1.7 Business Communities means users of TanTrade Mobile App.
1.8 Intellectual Property means the copy-right, know-how, the trade names and any marks,
trade device, service mark, symbol, code or specification, patents, designs and other
individual or intellectual property rights used in or associated with a person
2. APPLICABILITY
2.1 It is used in smartphone/handset.
2.2 Download the App, by going to Google play store or Apple store or from TanTrade
website and searching for "TanTrade Mobile App"
2.3 Install the App on your handset. Data will be charged for downloading the App.
2.4 After you have installed the APP launch the App by Registering for the first time
with email address and mobile phone number. Once registered entering your phone number
and submit to get One Time Pin (OTP) received through SMS.
2.5 Then enter OTP Pin received to validate your registration.
2.6 Once you have logged in you will be requested to accept the Terms & Conditions,
then the App will open Home page.

3.1.7 View Commodity Market Prices trends per Week per Month per Year
3.1.8 Refresh Mechanism To obtain most recent prices on home screen
3.1.9 View prices per commodity on retail and wholesale basis
3.1.10 View information forum on News Tab
3.1.11 Request for information from TanTrade promptly using Chat panel
3.1.12 View Market agent information for specific Market and Commodity
3.1.13 Enable and disable notification mechanism
3.1.14 View Market saturation information of Market details screen
3.1.15 Hamburger Menu Icon on Home screen

4. AVAILABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY OF INFORMATION
4.1 GENERAL RULES RELATING TO CONDUCT
4.1.1 The App is made available for your own personal use. The App must not
be used for any commercial purpose whatsoever or for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
When you use the App you must comply with all applicable Tanzanian laws
(together referred to as “Applicable Law”).
4.1.2 In particular, but without limitation, you agree not to:
4.1.3 Use the App in any unlawful manner or in a manner which promotes or
encourages illegal activity including (without limitation) copyright infringement; or
4.1.4 Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or any networks, servers
or computer systems connected to the App; or
4.1.5 Modify, adapt, translate or reverse engineer any part of the App or
re-format or frame any portion of the pages comprising the App, save to the
extent expressly permitted by these Terms or by law.
4.1.6 By subscribing to TanTrade Mobile App you agree and consent
to receive any advertisement and/or information in relation to the TanTrade Mobile
App service via SMS and other digital channels.
4.2 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
4.2.1 The copyright in all material contained on, in, or available through the
App including all information, data, text, music, sound, photographs, graphics and video
messages, the selection and arrangement thereof, and all source code, software
compilations and other material ("Material") is owned by or licensed to TanTrade.
All rights are reserved. You cannot copy, edit, vary, reproduce, publish, display,
distribute, store, transmit, commercially exploit, disseminate in any form whatsoever
or use the Material without TanTrade express permission.
4.2.2 The trademarks, service marks, and logos ('Trade Marks') contained on or
in the App are owned by TanTrade. You cannot use, copy, edit, vary, reproduce, publish,
display, distribute, store, transmit, commercially exploit or disseminate the Trade Marks
without the prior written consent of TanTrade.
4.3 LINK TO THIRD PARTIES
4.3.1 The App may contain links to websites operated by third parties
("Third Party Websites"). TanTrade may monetize some of these links through the use of
third-party affiliate programs. Notwithstanding such affiliate programs, TanTrade does
not have any influence or control over any such Third Party Websites and, unless
otherwise stated, is not responsible for and does not endorse any Third Party Websites
or their availability or contents.
4.4 DISCLAIMER / LIABILITY
4.4.1 Use of the app is at your own risks. The app is provided to the basis of
the maximum extent permitted by law:
4.4.2 TanTrade disclaims all liability whatsoever, whether arising in contract,
tort (including negligence) or otherwise in relation to the app; and
4.4.3 All implied warranties, terms and conditions relating to the app
(whether implied by statute, common law or otherwise), including (without limitation)
any warranty, term or condition as to accuracy, completeness, satisfactory quality,
performance, fitness for purpose or any special purpose, availability, non-infringement,
information accuracy, interoperability, quiet enjoyment and title are, as between Vodacom
and you, hereby excluded. In particular, but without prejudice to the foregoing, we accept
no responsibility for any technical failure of the internet and/or the app; or any damage
or injury to users or their equipment as a result of or relating to their use of the app.
your statutory rights are not affected.
4.4.4 TanTrade will not be liable, in contract, tort (including, without
limitation, negligence), under statute or otherwise, as a result of or in connection with
the App, for any: (i) economic loss (including, without limitation, loss of revenues,
profits, contracts, business or anticipated savings); or (ii) loss of goodwill or
reputation; or (iii) special or indirect or consequential loss.
4.4.5 Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as excluding or limiting the
liability of TanTrade for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for any
other liability which cannot be excluded by Applicable law.
4.5 ADVERTISERS IN THE APP
4.5.1 We accept no responsibility for adverts contained within the App. If you
agree to purchase goods and/or services from any third party who advertises in the App,
you do so at your own risk. The advertiser, not TanTrade, is responsible for such goods
and/or services and if you have any queries or complaints in relation to them, your
only recourse is against the advertiser.
5. OPT -IN AND OUT MECHANISM
5.1 Business Communities can download TanTrade Mobile App from Android Play Store or
iOS App Store and start using the Application.
5.2 Customer at any time can decide to logout from the App within the App Settings.
6. OTHER APPLICABLE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
6.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be read together with TanTrade General Subscriber Terms and Conditions.
6.2 In the event of inconsistence, overlapping or contradictory between these terms and conditions and TanTrade
General Subscriber Terms and Conditions, the order of precedence and applicability shall
be these Terms and Conditions TanTrade General Subscriber Terms and Conditions.
6.3 Any Subscriber and or Customer using the Services provided under these Terms
and Conditions shall be deemed to have read and understood the Terms and Conditions.
6.4 WE HAVE A RIGHT TO SUSPEND THE SERVICES:
6.4.1 If You use the Service for any unauthorized purposes;
6.4.2 If we detect any abuse/misuse, breach of content, fraud or attempted
fraud relating to your use of the Service;
6.4.3 If we are required or requested to do so in order to comply with an
order or instruction of or a recommendation from the government, court, regulator
or other competent authority;
6.4.4 If we reasonably suspect or believe that you are in
breach of these Conditions of Use;
6.4.5 If required to do so to address technical problems or for reasons of
ensuring safety upon reasonable notice to you;
6.4.6 To facilitate update or upgrade the
contents or functionality of the Service from time to time upon reasonable notice
to you;
6.4.7 If we decide to suspend or cease the provision of the Service for
commercial reasons or for any other reason as we may reasonably determine.
7. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
7.1 We may add to or change this Conditions of Use in accordance with clause 7.2.
We may add new fees and charges or change existing fees and charges at any time;
as a direct result of new legislation, statutory instrument, Government regulations
or licenses, rates of exchange, imposition or alteration of
government tax or as a result of any review of TanTrade’s
business planning, changes within the industry, recommendations
from regulatory bodies or for such other reason as it may determine.
7.2 We will let you know in advance if we add to or change these terms and
conditions or if we add new fees and charges or change existing ones during or
after the subscription of the Services. The amount and type of notice that we will
give you will follow the necessary channel that apply and available at that time. (
For example, we may notify you by letter, electronic mail, telephone (including
recorded message or text SMS) or by an advertisement in gazette daily or weekly
newspaper or in our website or any other means), you are advised also to visit
our website www.tantrade.go.tz from time to time to view the changes in case due
to some unforeseen reasons you might not receive updates notification.
7.3 If we change or add to these Terms and Conditions and you are
not happy to accept the changes, you may terminate this Terms and Conditions as per
Clause 8 below. If you do not ask us to end this Condition of Use and still using
the Services, you are deemed to accept the changes on their effective date.
8. TERMINATION OF SERVICES AND OR CONDITIONS OF USE
8.1 We may terminate this Conditions of Use at any time at our sole discretion.
Such termination shall be subject to notifying you. Notification may be by letter,
electronic mail, telephone (including recorded message or text SMS)
or by an advertisement in gazette daily or weekly newspaper or in our
website or any other means. You are advised also to visit our website from
time to time to view the changes in case due to some unforeseen reasons you
might not receive updates notification.
8.2 You may terminate these conditions of use by OPT-OUT.
9. GENERAL
9.1 We will not be liable for any delay or failure in performing any our
obligations in respect of the use of the Services where such delay or failure
occurs because of any circumstances beyond our Service’s reasonable control.
9.2 You may not vary any of these Condition of Use and you may not transfer
these terms to any other person or business.
9.3 These Conditions of Use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance
with Tanzania law.
9.4 We shall not be liable for any Indirect and or Consequential loss
9.5 All communications under these Terms and Conditions shall be in either
English or Swahili.
9.6 Customer Care
9.6. You may contact us through our customer chat or Submit enquires through
enquiries@tantrade.go.tz to report any disputes, claims or discrepancies in the Service.
9.6.2 Our customer care representatives will handle the reported case(s)
in accordance with our standard complaint handling procedures available in
our retail shops and on our website.
9.6.3 We may transfer to any other person any or all of its rights and/or
obligations under these Condition of Use subject to notifying you.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, your legal rights will not be affected
and your obligations will not be increased as a result. You may not transfer
your rights and obligations under these Condition of Use.
10. COMMUNICATION & COMPLAINTS
10.1 If you wish to enquire more details chat or mail us through info@tantrade.go.tz as
stated hereinabove
10.2 If you are not satisfied with any aspect of the service offered,
please chat or send email. They will be pleased to help and explain the
complaints procedure in more detail. We will try and resolve your complaint as
soon as possible. Often however, the complaint will need to be investigated.
If this is the case, we will respond to you within 7 Business Days to acknowledge
receipt of your complaint and we may respond to you how long it will take for your
complaint to be resolved. If your complaint cannot be resolved, you will be advised
accordingly.
